WiMAX的發展不但加速了全球行動寬頻產業的演進，並且帶來了新的營運模式以利行動寬頻服務業的普及‧近年來在政府的積極推動以及產、學、研界大力支持下，在全球通訊產業鏈上扮演相當重要之角色，對於促進台灣無線通訊產業品牌能見度、策略聯盟以及提升國際競爭力等方面皆具有實質的助益‧2 p9 ]3 ?0 C4 E+ V" o0 V

8 `% P- K2 w# I) L/ W3 I在追求數位匯流發展的議題下，「4G技術」與「智慧網路」已成為全球產業重點發展方向‧如何有效結合4G與現有的2G/3G技術互補也可與WiFi網路作結合，是未來全球行動寬頻產業的一大挑戰‧目前4G標準規格制定組織以3GPP LTE-Advanced(LTE-A)及IEEE 802.16m最為積極，WiMAX行動系統亦被視為未來4G寬頻無線通訊產業的重要之一環。另外，未來的4G技術主要成長動力來源將來自於創新的行動寬頻應用服務，因此，歐、美、日政府積極推動Telematics應用，運用無線通訊技術提供多樣性的行車通訊以及衍生之多樣性先進加值應用與服務，目前的車載通訊關鍵技術標準也在近年熱列的討論及制定中。4 c" N% [+ A& r& v$ d% w$ f* G, w

為掌握各國4G頻譜規劃、4G衍生之市場商機、中國TD-LTE發展現況、WiMAX發展現況以及4G晶片發展藍圖等議題，經濟部標準檢驗局委託工業技術研究院規劃，於7月12日舉辦「第四代行動通訊技術高峰會」，邀請歐、美、中、韓、日等通訊大廠、品牌大廠及運營商等法人與廠商，分享相關行動寬頻市場趨勢、4G IPR對產業發展的重要性與效益及最新4G國際標準發展現況。期望藉由本次研討會分享，讓國內產業界更能掌握市場與最近標準發展趨勢， 歡迎各界儘速報名參加。
