事情是這樣的 小弟目前是一年經驗的H/W QA
之前公司有個FAE離職 剛好小弟我有跟他那組的幾個RD合作過
5 @; o% M' |4 ~& ]9 I所以之間都不錯 他們就問我有沒有想要來接FAE的位子

  \' c6 W7 E, R' q  k4 x他們老闆竟然也說 ok  內轉想來就來壓 我一定說ok的 只要他老闆同意讓他來
雖然心裡當然是想 但是FAE是在做什麼我根本不知道
只知道要去客戶那邊被定(??  因為小弟只是私立後段的學士而已

要學歷沒學歷 要專業沒專業 英文也是不太行
6 e+ R4 X" h& k* M7 J% C去那邊不就是死路一條!  還是說可以過去那邊邊做邊學

FAE有辦法讓人邊做邊學嗎? 真的不太懂FAE耶

6 f/ X+ e3 Z7 h/ l; d( r0 w& c原廠會提供參考線路及檢查要點，這參考線路通常都是由AE來設計，除此之外客戶
也會修改參考線路，所以還要針對客戶修改的線路加以檢查。
2.layout review
原廠也會提供參考的layout及檢查的要點，例如一些高速的匯流排及電源走線
. f& S8 S5 f; W) g) a  S. W( w  W都要特別注意，常常會影響晶片的性能。
3.Firmware/Software/Driver development
6 h8 i0 E6 P: u% w8 e, D! N0 X6 L現在的IC公司基本上也要提供軟韌體的開發範例，這些範例也是由AE所開發出來的。
4.Training
教育訓練，原廠AE很多機會對代理商及客戶進行產品訓練及展示。有些時候AE也會與
sales/marketing配合到客戶端去推銷產品。
5.Documentation
- ~: x4 q0 s* y' h" r- b+ e6 AIC廠會有許多的文件需要撰寫，包含datasheet，使用手冊...等，這些文件也是由AE
所提供出來的。此外也很多機會在一些雜誌及報紙上發表技術文章。

AE所需的技能：
1.學習能力
  i0 [: T( q  t根據不同的客戶需求，常常需要開發各種不同的應用，因此常常需要學習新的領域。
( x- v+ j) y  z1 B3 D  }: v4 M快速的學習能力會是很重要的一個因素。
2.溝通能力
不同於R&D，AE有很多的時間是在與別人溝通。對內要與sales, marketing, PM, R&D等
溝通，對外要與客戶的R&D, PM或是合作廠商及代理商等溝通。良好的溝通能力會讓你的
工作事半功倍。
3.語言能力
3 W& r* q! x" J# A無論是台灣或是外國的IC廠商，英語能力都是不可或缺的必備能力。無論是聽說讀寫都
會常常使用到。不需要文辭優美文法正確，只要敢說敢講就可。
& J- j! j7 x) y9 x/ d1 D4.EQ能力
8 Q& M- c5 M+ X5 KAE是第一線的作戰人員，常常有機會會受到客戶或是內部的合理或是不合理責難。這時候
良好的EQ會是很重要的一個因素。此外不同於R&D，很多案子常常執行到一半就取消，會
% I% r3 }( t+ x, E6 \3 b- r0 e9 n常常有做白工的狀況，適時的調適自己的心情也是很重要的。
5.多工及管理能力
通常一個AE同時會要支援數個案子，所以如何有效的管理手上的案子，依照重要性來分配
時間及資源也是很重要的。

AE的背景與出路：

* {7 n8 q  W! y% j  @( B目前觀察到的普遍來說AE的資歷都是比較淺的，很多同事都是在系統廠或是IC廠工作兩到
! I8 s" P* d2 d/ s' ~2 P三年後轉職過來。如果是國外更是常常看到大學剛畢業就去做AE。以AE的工作性質還蠻適
合新人來試試看。可以了解IC產業的運作模式，及學習到許多新的知識。
( ^4 U$ s0 N5 t: m0 S0 O出路：
. w" X- S9 s1 F; C* [6 v% ^8 RAE的出路很廣，想往技術方面發展可以轉往系統廠或IC廠做software/hardware的R&D，想
往行銷方面發展也可以轉去做sales/marketing，想往管理方面發展也可以轉去做PM。而且
8 I+ j; j. b% A8 bAE相對來說認識的人面也會比廣，只要做的好轉職會很容易。
薪水：
, U$ g' _! X' u. M一般來說AE的薪水在IC廠內是比較低的，一般來說外商的職缺薪水排名會如下：
) H3 [6 r3 [  _! ssales > marketing >= FAE > AE
- W2 r! f$ F7 D不過相對來說外商的AE進入難度也是這些職缺裡面最低的。

當初怎麼進來的? 我自己也很納悶 也感到很幸運

那時大學4年肄業 對於本科電子沒興趣 所以毅然決然的就去當兵了

當兵前等到入伍的前兩個月 去家父任職的建築公司打工

0 _( Z, o: q2 H9 E每天8點前到工地 然後就是帶客戶看屋 驗屋 然後記錄需要改進

6 h0 Y) l9 o; E或是客戶要求的事項 總之就像是工頭啦

雖然日曬雨林的 有時候中飯時間還會被屋主Call回去看屋

錄取這間公司也算是蠻有趣的一個過程

當初有兩間公司開了Offer給我 一個是某認證實驗室 另一個就是這間House

在面試這間公司的時候 沒考試 就只是跟主管聊天而已

專業知識也只問了一個Reset的問題 大概是我答的很快吧

接下來就是回家等通知嚕!!!!

過了約兩個星期錄取通知寄來了 我就這樣開始了工程師的職涯

FAE做什麼? 我公司大概就是對內 畫電路 對電路 Layout 焊接 和軟韌體溝通及測試

對外的話就是去客戶那邊協助Debug 規畫硬體設計 以及通過相關認證

還有就是個人負責項目 主要就這3大類 總之就是打雜的

$ w2 h( [0 W5 H; p, P% P9 d- |+ M( x我剛進公司的第一年真的就是打雜的 前輩做什麼就跟著做

& P1 {2 ^/ W$ ^  p在旁邊多看多問 或是幫忙做 這樣會上手的很快

5 }# M8 Q# _4 l0 s, Y- u# wFAE不比一般RD只要把Code寫出來就好 會說話會溝通很重要

總要想個光明正大的理由讓客戶覺得有在做只是因為...而拖延了

有時候又要在Sales和RD中間取得平衡 讓雙方都可以接受

8 F" `/ C. f& ~因此會交際和實力一樣重要

% o$ Q0 r6 G7 @  n4 a3 Q6 [  W" f有實力不會交際的FAE 只會被交付一些不重要的打雜工作

或是很賽客戶很刁的案子 要不就是負責的全是一些不重要的產品

因此想步入FAE的 先想想自己的交際能力如何 喇賽功力強不強

FAE需要的專業?

FAE可以說是最不需要也最需要的工作

零件的工作原理! 如何用最小最便宜的料件去兜成你所需要的電路
; K. U1 }- ?5 E; }% c* e
看的懂SPEC 可以減少很多設計和Debug的時間

專業知識夠的 可以用最少的時間用最適合的料件

專業不夠的用以前的電路去兜 或是用最常見的也都是可以

差別只是在時間和成本 你的老闆重不重視就要看命了!!!

FAE的發展

# M* Z7 E' u+ {* W1 Q1 ^7 W由於 FAE接觸的層面很廣 能學到的東西相對的非常多
* N, n, p3 _+ F: n
看自己要不要去更精進 英文能力好的 看的懂Code的

- L5 w/ j: E0 c% N3 [8 s加上人面廣要Sample時能很快的入手需求料件

以上三點是最主要的發展方向

9 ?& ^3 s( M; E: x  R若是腦經靈活 常常能想出不一樣的方法來解決問題 這點更是重要

因為有時候RD寫Code只會照著原本Rule來寫

若是能適時的提點RD 或是在硬體上Cover RD
