Responsibilities: ( e* w9 y9 h- P! s; l- W
The imaging scientist will be responsible for developing architectures, algorithms, and implementation details for new advanced pixels. 7 I' a9 `4 N- g: f% E' ^# C) {' J
% |! D' F1 z5 W; b0 e7 Z% m3 a
1. Design and development of image processing algorithms such as demosaicing, denoising, edge-enhancement, bad pixel correction, high dynamic range imaging, adaptive tonal mapping, AE, AWB, AF, still/video image stabilization and other scene analysis based algorithms.
! o! ]! a4 r: G* r S; L2. Work with an ASIC, CMOS process technology, advanced pixel design teams for optimal implementation.
0 b4 h* ~% ^. p) ^/ ~5 W, x3. Design in machine vision such as statistical pattern classification, neural networking, scene analysis, facial recognition algorithms
5 q$ M8 A3 f/ `8 S4. Perform system modeling of camera pipeline components, including imagers and digital image processing modules. 2 V3 c' K6 l& ^# Y0 i* D
5. Perform signal analysis to evaluate quality of image processing algorithms and systems; Perform analysis and characterization of imaging sensors. 5 d) v$ T% l2 }9 P) `8 v

Requirements: ; t5 y' E) P3 h; A' X: m2 S3 t7 u
1. Ph.D. in Imaging Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Vision, or related fields
6 H( ?- z3 ]; S, W, O4 ~# V2. In-depth knowledge of camera image processing pipeline
; }4 ?5 j" E8 r3. Proficiency in C, C++ and / or Matlab coding to design and run simulations for complex image pipeline ; N D$ n; d, s; V" c
4. Background in image processing in related industries, such as digital still camera or surveillance camera is a plus
" @2 V! M" \1 z5. Knowledge of hardware realization of the algorithms is a big plus
